BUNWC has for six decades been
providing financial support to the university and its libraries. We are
the largest friends-of-a-library group in the world with more than 50,000
members in 92 communities nationwide. Members have provided funds for more
than a million books.
In addition, we are supporting the libraries' need
for state-of-the art computer technology, critical print and electronic
journals, reference materials, and preservation of rare volumes and
historical documents. Recently BUNWC has expanded its mission to include
fundraising for undergraduate scholarship and graduate fellowship funds. These funds will be directed to the neurosciences, the humanities, Judaica,
the sciences, and social justice.
Members of the individual BUNWC chapters
may pursue their own passion for learning through Study Group courses
created by Brandeis faculty exclusively for the Women's Committee and
through University Outreach, an annual nationwide faculty lecture tour to
Women's Committee chapters. Individual chapters also offer their own
originally designed study groups, workshops, and enrichment activities.
